Pre-Remember!
- Do your research on the ins and outs of pre-registered cars so you know what you are dealing with and what to expect.
- Pay attention and be vigilante.
- Look out for any signs of wear and tear on your vehicle before you hand over any money or sign anything as it may have been used for test drives etc, if so you should be entitled to ex-demo prices.
- Check the build date if you want to know when the car was manufactured.
- Remember that the warranty starts when the first owner is registered, so depending on how long it has taken the dealership to sell the vehicle after registering it, you may be missing out on valuable warranty time, this may be a worthy sacrifice however considering the price you are paying.
- If there’s no logbook or V5C there is no deal! Walk away and never go back!
- You should be able to re-sell your car at a reasonable price at the end of your use providing you have the documents which prove that you bought the vehicle when it was as good as brand new.
- Keep your invoice and receipt to prove your ownership of the vehicle. If this is a BMW X5 for example then be sure to get all the necessary documentation to prove when you bought it, how much you paid etc etc.
- Don’t feel pressured to buy unless you’re completely happy and satisfied with the way things have been handled.
